Instagram reels are annoying. And addictive. And instagram makes it damn hard to get rid of them, it seems like the whole site is geared towards getting you scrolling.
Here’s how to block them on your android phone.
- Uninstall Instagram
- From your browser, create a shortcut from instagram.com to your home screen.
- Install the Leechblock extension on your browser.
- In the leechblock options, make a blockset with
instagram.com/reels/*in it’s filter list. Set the time periods and days to whatever you want.
That should do it!
With this, you’ll still be able to view reels people send you, it’ll be presented as a post, but thankfully you won’t be able to end up on the god-awful reels tab.
